Quit Using Immunocompromised People to Promote Your Vaccine Agenda

CDC, I’m talking to you. Media, I’m talking to you. Pediatricians, I’m talking to you. Parents who shame other parents, I’m talking to you. Using immunocompromised people as pawns in a vaccine-pushing agenda that twists scientific data to manipulate emotions is abhorrent.

As the mother of a child with an immunodeficiency, I can say with certainty there is no human on this planet who cares more about his health and well being than I do. I can also say with certainty that the push to vaccinate for the sake of the immunocompromised has nothing to do with science and everything to do with an agenda.

Once upon a time, listening only to propaganda and not bothering to read the fine print, I lined up for the flu shot to “protect” my son. That was before I understood these facts.

Vaccine induced herd immunity doesn’t exist. You, of course, are supposed to believe it does and you’re supposed to believe if you don’t vaccinate your child, my son could suffer or even die. The concept of herd immunity is promoted to coerce people to do their part for the immunocompromised but it isn’t supported by factual data.

The media and medical community lectures the public ad nauseam: “95 percent of our population must be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity and protect those too ill to receive vaccines.” They speak as though we are close to that percentage when the truth is that more than 150 million Americans haven’t complied with the CDC’s immunization schedule. So where are the outbreaks? Have you asked your next-door neighbor if he’s up to date on his Hepatitis B vaccine? Did you ask your boss if she’s gotten the Tdap? Did you ask your daycare provider if she’s had the HPV vaccine? Too invasive? Not really thatimportant?

Then what right does anyone have to ask that a just-toddling one-year-old or bright-eyed five-year-old be vaccinated for the sake of the herd? Is there a sane reason to sacrifice a seven-pound newborn for the herd before he’s even opened his eyes? When half of American adults haven’t done jack for “the greater good,” the answer is clearly no.

While everyone is busy coercing you to vaccinate your children to protect mine, my doctor is warning me your recently vaccinated kids could infect my son. The CDC cautions that individuals who have recently received measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, and rotavirus vaccines are at risk of spreading these diseases to immunocompromised individuals.1 In plain language, this means I’m a lot more worried about my immunocompromised son playing with your baby who just had the rotavirus vaccine than your kindergartener giving mine Hepatitis B. (Now, if kindergarteners start engaging in the types of activities that spread Hepatitis B, we are all going to have a lot more than herd immunity to worry about.)

Most vaccines are recommended for immunocompromised individuals anyhow, so whether or not you vaccinate is largely irrelevant. Hepatitis A and B, meningitis, flu, Haemophilus influenzae b, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines are actually recommended for immunocompromised individuals.2 If an immunocompromised person is supposed to be up to date on these vaccines anyhow, why must the immunocompetent rush off and roll up their sleeves too? The answer is simple.

Statistically speaking, the grocery store shopping cart poses a far greater risk to the immunocompromised than the average unvaccinated American. The reality is the common cold, strep throat, and the nasty GI bugs that go around every winter are a far bigger threat to the immunocompromised in this country than wild polio, which hasn’t been seen here in decades, or tetanus which isn’t spread between humans anyhow.3 If you are actually concerned about the immunocompromised, keep your baby at home for the full 15 days the CDC warns he may shed rotavirus post vaccine.4 Stay home when you’re coughing and sneezing. Don’t drop off your kids at school with green noses. Don’t even dream of hopping on a plane with a little fever.

And if this is too much to ask? At least do me a favor and don’t pretend you’re vaccinating for the sake of my son.

  1. Bravo! Thank you for such a well written intelligent piece. It never made sense to me that anyone could think that my child who isn’t vaccinated could cause their child harm, when their child is vaccinated. And, didn’t they vaccinate believing that is what will protect him? So how in the world could my child not being vaccinated make their child get a disease when they are protected, right… Anyway I’m grateful that there are people out there who are able to think for themselves and look beyond the pressure and unverified social media and media hype. THANK YOU.

  2. If you look at facts, America was pretty much clear of all the diseases of vaccinations they are screaming for us to get until they let people from all these different countries with diseases come to our country. How stupid of our Government! And it is worse today. They let these foreign children in our schools that have diseases to affect our children.

    1. You are so right Sharri. But some states will not let children with legal status enroll in school unless they have had their bodies contaminated with chemicals and poisons. I can’t believe that more vegans are not shouting to the top of their lungs because some forced vaccines contain animal (bovine, monkey, human), especially those who are vegan for religious reasons.

  3. Woohoo! Well said. As one who suffers from autoimmune issues, due to vaccine reaction, I do not expect others to bend over backwards for me and do unthinkable things to themselves or their children, on my behalf. The whole idea is absurd. We all need to just take care of our own and stop sticking our noses into other people’s business.

  4. The 1986 law protects vaccine companies from all lawsuits. As long as this law is on the books, vaccine companies have no incentive to produce safe vaccines.

    Thank you.

  5. Powerful & truthful. Many don’t understand or ignore these facts. I hope forwarding this info will educate more parents, health care workers, etc. Thank you for sharing this important information.

  6. Wow Ashlyn, what a great article. Our children are healthy and unvaccinated. We used to worry about other children shedding those diseases. If only the adults knew they themselves were not current via boosters and such, they’d have a better understanding that the human natural immune system is effective and trust worthy. Our girls got sick a few times, sometimes when other kids were not. Alternatively, some major flue and illness spread in kindergarten but our girls did not show any symptoms at all. Perhaps it’s our natural gmo free fructose and white sugar free chemical free msg free synthetic free organic diet, you know; actual trust worthy food. Maybe we’re just lucky. Just maybe though, natural immunity and standard expected sanitation works and works so well that vaccines are entirely unnecessary for the general populace except in extremely rare cases when actual outbreak of actually life threatening diseases might take place. On a related note, many food skeptics argue immuno compromisation is in large part a result of cumulative bio toxicity from dangerous chemicals, synthetics, preservatives, fillers, and pesticides in many foods, applicable from the womb to the grave. Vaccine skeptics should also pay attention to food safety, it’s all part of the larger picture of human health. It does not matter where the chemicals come from, it’s simply unwise to willingly take in more toxins than the human body is capable of effectively managing. We will not be consumers of dangerous substances on purpose, regardless of form of delivery or ingestion. We have the right to a chemical free life, and a chemical free house. I personally believe that when more people get on board with chemical and food safety awareness, they’ll naturally reject vaccinations more frequently and in much greater numbers.

  7. As a parent who was not informed of what was to be done to my newborn when she was scooped away right after birth and then developed health issues (including immune), I thank you for writing this. As someone who was later brow-beaten by several pediatricians (boasting their credentials) to pile more vaccines into my child, I salute you for speaking up. As a parent who allowed myself and child to receive the “necessary” vaccines to travel in 2001, and then both of us have developed many health issues since those, I am grateful you are willing to speak out.

While it won’t help our family at this late stage, I encourage others to speak up, to ask questions and demand answers before making an INFORMED choice about vaccinations– based on full knowledge of all the ingredients, the side effects, the safety profile.

We ask for disclosure before buying a house or car– shouldn’t we be entitled to the same for our beloved children?

  8. Excellent! Just plain excellent. I’m an immunocompromised person and my brand new grandson had the whooping cough vaccine (his parents, sorry to say, are idiots who buy into the “my pediatrician loves me and would never hurt my baby” crap. Sure enough I held him for a whole afternoon, and was coughing and sick for 3 days afterward. I’m sure I didn’t have whooping cough but that baby shed enough stuff from that stupid shot to make me more than just a little bit ill.

I wish I could get my son and his wife to pay attention to facts – REAL FACTS – but her mother is an RN and of course they believe her garbage facts more than my logical, common sense facts, especially about shedding. They just don’t believe it’s true that vax really do shed. Go figure. They have 7 fully immunized kids (and I do mean FULLY immunized) and one of them (or more) is sick at any given time throughout the entire year. They never have someone who isn’t sick at their house. It’s disgusting but still they don’t believe me that those shots don’t help a thing.

  9. Thank you so much, Ashlyn, for writing this! BTW, regarding the shedding of viruses after vaccines, I’ve got to tell you that the risk isn’t only right after the shot. My son got the MMR at 16 months in 1986, got the measles exactly 10 days later and developed all the early characteristics of autism within weeks. Nearly 2 decades later, while attempting to eradicate the measles from his body with a doctor-prescribed homeopathic, he broke out with painful Koplik (measles) spots in his mouth. About 2 weeks later his late-teen, fully vaccinated cousin got the same Koplik spots in his mouth after spending the weekend together.

  10. DTap and Tdap – we simply wrote a letter to the local school explaining why we were unwilling to have our daughter vaccinated (glad to share the letter with others – [email protected]). We will write a similar letter for our son who is required to have the meningocococal vaccine. We live in Ohio. Thankfully there is still legislation that allows us to decline vaccinations for reasons of conscience (conscience means “with knowledge”). My training is in biotech.

Thank you NVIC! I get pushback when discussing this with others. Most don’t have training so the conversation can only go so far before the feelings or training overwhelm the logic.

We are thankful for what you do to properly inform us. Even those of us employed as scientists are not always “up to speed” and we need to be continually educated too. Just because we are “in the field” does not make us experts.
