Death by Medicine

Conventional medicine has emerged as the leading cause of death and injury in the United States. Instead of lifting up people’s level of wellbeing, the American medical system is now doing more harm than good. Hospitals, which are supposed to be a safe haven for the ill are plagued with medical malpractice and errors. In 1999, up to 100,000 people every year were at risk of dying from mistakes made in the hospital. Ten years later, that number rose to 180,000. Today, that number could be as high as 440,000 casualties of medical mistakes! Hospitals are also notorious breeding grounds for infections. Every day, 1 in 25 patients in the U.S. gets at least one infection associated with their hospital stay. Nearly 2 million people acquire a hospital infection every year, resulting in 90,000 deaths.

  1. GREEDY DOCTORS, AND DRUG COMPANIES ARE KILLING OUR CHILDERN AND LOVED ONES. I REFUSE TO EVER GO TO A NASTY DIRTY HOSPITAL. A HOSPITAL IS WHERE YOU GO TO DIE. MOST PEOPLE WHO ATTEND YOU IN A HOSPITAL, INCLUDING DOCTORS, ARE STILL STUDENTS EXPERIMENTING ON YOUR BODY FOR THEIR OWN EDUCATION. I WILL DIE AT HOME. NEVER IN A NASTY HOSPITAL.

  2. For all those who hate and never want to go to a hospital: I hope that you or your loved one is never in a bone-breaking, organ crushing accident or experience a ruptured aneurysm. Most doctors are not greedy but the HMO/Insurance companies are – they are making BILLIONS – at the expense of patients and health care providers, including doctors.

  3. It seems to me that the nursing profession is serving itself instead of serving patients with more and more nurses on a 3 day work week of 12+ hour shifts in order to have more ‘me’ time. Nursing is a tedious job and an 8 hour day can be exhausting let alone a 12 hour day. Things will not change until the welfare of the patient comes first. With narcissism on the rise I don’t see this happening anytime soon. Do yourself a favor….stay healthy !

    1. while there are likely some nurses who do not truly care, many of the scheduling changes are secondary to administration machinations. in my 50+ years of being a nurse it has been my observation that it is at the administrative level where “patients coming first” has fallen short. nursing can be far beyond “tedious”……as in overwhelming, emotionally and physically draining. nurses are often expected to provide top notch care, while suffering severe staffing shortages.

    2. It was not the choice on nurses to do 12 hour days. They may now prefer it or some may even work two jobs but it was originally an employers choice.

  4. The ER is necessary at times
& modern medicine has its time and place…but chiropractic and alternative doctors should be covered too
