If You’re Whitewashing Autism, You’re Part of The Problem

From “better diagnosis” to the idea the autistic brain is “wired differently” to the emphasis on those with extraordinary talents, efforts to whitewash the realities of autism are endless. We’ve been spoon fed a bogus narrative that normalizes autism and most people buy it despite the fact that kids in this country are clearly suffering more than ever, and not just with autism.

Last month, The Wall Street Journal reported that insurance claims for dangerous allergic reactions to peanuts, dairy, and eggs have increased nearly 500% across the past decade. Between 2002 and 2013, the rate of Type 1 diabetes in children soared by 60%. Meanwhile, our nation’s children are doing so poorly psychologically, emotionally, and behaviorally that the Boston Globe reported that 500 school children in Massachusetts were arrested last year in what is being called a national trend. Between 2001 and 2009, asthma rates in black children rose by nearly 50%. Between 2011 and 2015, the Denver public school system found itself increasing spending on elementary school therapy services by 244%.

Like the disconcerting increases in autoimmune diseases and allergies, the increasing rates of autism are real too. If you have any true familiarity with autism, you know that there is no way these children would have passed as typically developing before autism became an epidemic. That idea is about as ludicrous as assuming that just a generation ago, parents, teachers, and doctors were too stupid to notice anaphylaxis, diabetic neuropathy, and asthma attacks.

Professing that there has been no alarming increase in autism benefits a number of individuals, companies, and groups, but it certainly doesn’t benefit people with autism. Would pretending there has been no increase in peanut allergies and distributing peanuts on every airplane and sending peanut butter into every classroom like we did in 1980 benefit those anaphylactic to peanuts? Do we have to refer to anaphylaxis as a beautiful variation of food tolerance to be deemed supportive of the peanut-allergic?

The whitewashing of autism comes not only in the delusional declaration that it has always been here, but also the claim that the autistic brain is simply wired differently. Clearly our children with autism are beautiful human beings who should be valued, but not for the reasons the neurodiversity crowd suggests. While they hammer on the unfounded theory that autism is a unique variation of healthy neurological function, there is a growing body of science that is much more grim and sobering.

Immune dysfunction and brain inflammation in autism are implicated in study after study like these:

Complications of heart inflammation, or myocarditis, include dilated cardiomyopathy and cardiac arrest. Pleurisy is inflammation of the lungs and complications include respiratory distress and lung collapse. Inflammation of the liver, known as hepatitis, can cause scarring, cancer, or liver failure resulting in death.

Inflammation of the brain, of course, is no less serious.

In contrast to inflammation of the kidneys, appendix, or spleen, we are told that there is no reason for concern over brain inflammation. That even if our kids are spending the entire day crying, the entire night fighting insomnia, all the moments in between trapped in ritualistic compulsions, and locked helplessly within their own minds, that we need to accept it. And that it is normal. And it has always been here. And that it is part of a wide continuum of healthy neurological functioning that should be embraced.

Excuse me?

I believe most people assume that I feel supported and my son feels accepted when they share articles and videos highlighting the beauty, creativity, and genius of autism. They, along with the neurodiversity movement, including many parents of children with autism and adult autistics themselves, don’t realize they’re pawns in a scheme much bigger than promoting acceptance of people with autism.

Alas, pretending autism is a gift doesn’t demonstrate acceptance any more than pretending a peanut allergy is a gift. Calling brain inflammation and immune dysfunction beautiful isn’t support. Acceptance of people with autism, who are each inherently valuable and beautiful in their own right, means acknowledging the actual research, not mindlessly parroting whitewashed folklore.

  1. My gandaughter, a straight A student from kindergarten to 6th. Had the chickenpox vaccine about a month ago. She had fevors for about a week and headaches. Now she can’t do homework or attend school without crying and she can’t fall asleep without being egsausted. Help where do I start to get help

    1. I would try to see a PANS doctor. This is probably related to brain inflammation. Check out Dr. Trifiletti who understands the vaccine connection.

    2. Start with reporting it to Vaers!! do chelated minerals and dead sea salt or natural Epsom salt bath. No pull out toxins. Also, you can get MSM powder. There are several companies that make it that are very good. If you have a natural grocers in your area I would go there first. MSM powder is a type of sulfur that has no flavor whatsoever you can be in cold or warm liquids that it’s better and warm. It is the number one detoxer of Mercury. Mercury will race from wherever it is to bind with the sulfur. Human bodies do not store sulfur and so it will be passed out through the urine, they’re for detoxing your child of mercury and other heavy metals. Start there.

    3. Carol…so sorry to hear about this dear. It’s important that you’re looking outside of the mainstream to reverse your grand daughter condition. Time is of the essence for kids on the spectrum, the sooner the better is the best policy. The soone r the child is detoxified, oxygenation is restored to the body’s cells, parasites are handled, organic no pesticide diet is followed, you should start to see some improvements I would think. Go onto youtube and research AutismONE….this is a normal post I make to folks.

In closing, if anyone has a child that has been diagnosed with Autism or you suspect your child may have some of the attributes that are associated within the spectrums known as Autism. I’d invite you to research a Kerri Rivera with AutismONE. These folks have CURED well over 180 kids of their spectrum diagnosis and have helped literally 1,000’s upon 1,000’s of kids all around the World in over 70 Countries. Western Medicine has NOT CURED ONE CHILD!!….. in addition states it is IMPOSSIBILE to CURE Autism?…. nor are they even INTERESTED in LEARNING from someone who is SUCCESSFUL at HELPING ALL these KIDS & YOUNG ADULTS….WHAT??? This is the TRUTH and the FACT of the matter!?!? This is yet another PRIME example of Western Medicine FAILING the population of the ENTIRE world….PERIOD!! There is a CURE for Autism do NOT give up hope. Peace to all caring, logical, and ethical human beings.

      Here’s a link to a AutismONE conference, enjoy 🙂

    4. Try using the homeopathic remedy called “Thuja”. Traditionally this is the remedy to counteract vaccine side effects. I had a client use it on her daughter who was having 16 seizures per day after receiving a flu vaccine shot. After 7 hours they went down to 1 and after 2 days down to 0. Try getting it in the homeopathic dose of 30 C or 30 X. A good health food store should have it.

    5. Use “Cell Food” to oxygenate the brain. Get hold of “proteolytic enzymes” to stop inflammation. Use a high standard “curcumin from tuemeric with the tumerine oils intact (Life Extension has it) because the oils cause new nerve cell growth.

  2. Let’s call a spade a spade. It’s a pharmaceutically induced disease. And as soon as everybody admits it and stops the stupid vaccinations it will plummet
The only ones who will suffer will be the pharmaceutical industry and the pediatricians

  3. I have read the side effects that come with the vaccine data sheet, printed by the manufacturers themselves, and it says right on the sheet that brain inflammation is one of the side effects. I have often wondered why the medical community can read that but then deny any autism/vaccine connection. Keep moving people, nothing to see here.

  4. Having researched and watched the issue of autism for the last 30 years it is appalling the pseudo medical & so-called “scientific” community act as if they do not know the truth about autism and vaccines. Instead, study after study tries to blame everything and everyone else; from the mother’s diet, smoking, “recreational” drugs and everything else including the kitchen sink. The tactical strategy is clear – distract attention away from the truth and avoid it at all costs. Hide the truth right in plain site – it always works because people have been conditioned to accept authority even when it is wrong, unethical & criminal. Those who are awake, conscious and seek the truth no matter the cost, are few and far between. Yet it is they who are labeled kooks, conspiracy theorists and worse.

  5. Having a 29 yo son with severe, low-functioning, nonverbal autism, I am happy to see this common-sense article.

  6. Circumcision is a traumatic brain injury that has been shown to be associated with autism. Babies must be protected from trauma – not intentionally subjected to it.

  7. I am 74. My wife and I were thinking back to our growing up years. We cannot recall any autistic children and few allergies other than “hay fever”. We also had very few immunization shots. It changed as immunization so increased.

  8. Please take some time to familiarize yourselves with a druless healing specialty for children.
Chiropractic Pediatric is a diplomat of 200 plus hours afforded to doctors of Chiropractic who are devoted to the wellness of children. The International Chiropeactic Pediatric Association has a doctor referral web site, many peep review research papers & topics on infant, child & teen health. Get your children under consistent care to increase immunity- it’s been proven that white blood cells travel through the body to the tune of 400 x greater following a spinal adjustment.

  9. As a teacher, I am an advocate for all individuals living with autism- those who can lead self-directed lives, and those, like my vaccine-injured son, who never will. With that said, I can see the propaganda serving to polarize the community- an autistic muppet on Sesame Street, a “good” doctor (wonderchild) coming soon to prime time television- vehicles to steer the conversation away from WHY we are seeing these rates of autism, and instead insert political correctness (“Gee, isn’t that wonderful?”) into the mainstream dialogue. This truthful article reasserts the message that I refuse to relinquish: My son’s story- full of non-verbal misery, self-injury, bowel distress, and yes, slow victories, deserves to be heard and accepted for what it is, ESPECIALLY from others living with autism.

  10. Carol, I’m sorry to hear of your daughter. I encourage you to get a copy of How To Prevent Autism, by Dara Berger. Excellent information and references for reversing toxic side effects.

  11. For those recommending Thuja, should it be used for those with a tree nut allergy, since it comes from the leaves and seeds of pine trees?
